Effects of cold weather on soil

 

How the soil looks after intense snow. The colour changes are pretty fascinating. I think the snow melts before the soil has thawed, the soil cannot absorb water. Cold temperature brings a couple issues below the soil because the soil surface as  soil surface as the frost depth in the soil deepens.
